Modern Dance in Manila - Captivating July 16, 2007
Right from the get-go - well, OK, you’re about 3 milliseconds into the “Love Potion No. 9″ performance when you realize “Wow, this is complex.” And then it captivates you. And it holds on without a letdown - in captivation or complexity - for nearly two hours. Seriously. No one wanted to move from their seat during the brief intermission.
Modern dance is a alive and well in Manila, thank you very much. And thanks to Paul Morales and the Airdance troop of dancers, choreographers, and teachers.
The performance was not only a fusion of modern dance styles, it was a beautifully crafted fusion of film making and dance - and performance art.

Love Potion No. 9, an exploration on the idea of romance in Philippine movies. Choreographed and directed by Paul Morales, this production is an exposition of introspection versus seduction through contemporary dance.
[It] is based on the acclaimed recording of “PELIKULA at Pundaquit†by BOLIPATA with classic and well-known musical scores for the stage and film by Cruz, Canseco, Bolipata and Abelardo as brought to life by siblings Alfonso and Chino Bolipata. T
