My photographic skills and equipment aren’t up to capturing the wonder of this event.

Bukidnon really comes together it the Kaamulan street dancing. Nine municipalities took place and the dances acted out indigenous stories from each.

I didn’t know what to expect, but I brought my own prejudices of a foreigner and one with a mostly tagalog-centric experience. So I was astounded by the naturalness with which province (and Malaybalay itself) brought this off. Not a hint of Muslim/Christian split. Everybody at once was Bukidnonian or whatever they call themselves. This stuff predates Islam and Christianity. No guards. No security. No hint of war or conflict. Just everybody out on the street having a great time. It was just so natural. And beautiful.
