Philcom DSL February 22, 2007

Visited Philcom this afternoon to try to solve my bandwidth problem. They were a bit defensive - almost before I could say anything, the tech rep wanted to make clear that my 512 kbps service is a “burst rate.” OK. But can we increase my bandwidth?

I’m paying P995/month for the 512 kbps “burst rate” service. We decided to double this to 1Mbps for (about) P3750/month.

It starts March 1. We’ll see how that goes.

I switched to Smart Bro quite a while ago, but Philcom tells us they've made changes in their link from CdO and speeds are much better now. I was thinking about trying them again - but I haven't yet. I've moved to Depot area (in Malaybalay City) and I'm not even sure I can get any DSL up there yet. Philcom is investigating - haven't heard back from them yet.

Philcom DSL, from my experience as a regular internet surfer and an online gamer, SUCKS. It's good for downloads, but bad for gaming. It just sucks so bad that I waste my time.. I'd rather switch to Globe.

were on philcom dsl right now here in Mati City wherein they only offer a speed of 384 Kbps but apprentlly as for my rapidshare downloads premium account only got an average download of 18-40kbps which is unstable from time to time and also drops their internet connection in about 5 minutes interval for non-consecutive hours and or days. . and I can conclude its about time to switch to other ISP like SmartBro which is far more better to use though they only have 384 Kbps mostly …

It's expensive to have that kind of speed! 3+++ worth of payment is for business connection already and that can go 2mb now.

I have tried smartbro and when the signal is good, speed would surely go
steady with 384, but of course most of the time smartbro sucks, specially in
the morning. anyway, how do they do that?
