In spite of MLQ3’s call for sobriety in the comments here from this Summer, I find the mainsteam press becomming more and more useless to me. Even the daily NY Times lying on my breakfast table every morning goes greatly unread these days.

The blogosphere and podosphere provide me with almost all of what’s happening that’s useful to me. (And I’m getting incredibly timely information off my iPod, daily).

The only reason I go to ABS/CBN or PDI print/web outlets or CNN is to find out what news the masses are getting - not to find news the influencers are getting.

MLQ3 in the above-mentioned Comments: “PCIJ and blogs are what are taking media further and keeping it from stagnating into just another source of rss feeds.”

That just doesn’t seem to be happening.
